Play a bigger role in your child’s education.

Education designed by you. Modular learning is a new way of approaching your child’s learning through a unique combination of 1-1 instruction, socialization, mentorship & support. In Modular Learning, you as a family have the freedom to customize your child’s curriculum to fit their unique learning style, engage with the community in a way that is ideally suited to your child’s social style and build a childcare plan that makes it possible for the whole family to realize their passions.

A flexible schedule and learning plan. In traditional schooling, most of the education takes place in one location and through one institution, and is uniform for a group. In modular education, families pull together a mosaic of resources for their individual child’s education, drawing from a variety of different organizations and sources.

An inclusive and diverse learning community. Modular Learning is for every family, whether you are a stay-at-home parent, single parent or working family. You customize and develop your child’s learning plan according to your family’s values and resources. This freedom allows every child the chance to reach their full potential socially and academically through individualized instruction and community-based support - so we may raise a society of critical thinkers and engaged citizens who are prepared to thrive and contribute meaningfully to a rapidly evolving world.

Modulo is a free resource for families interested in playing a more active role in their child’s education, cultivating healthy social relationships and developing a customized learning schedule to support their family’s lifestyle, passions and educational goals.

Accelerate and enrich your child’s learning through 1:1 instruction

1:1 teaching sessions allow your child to develop their skills at just the right level of challenge with lessons tailored to their unique learning style, and to progress at their own pace. Parents don’t need to have a teaching background to teach their child as the best way to teach is to learn alongside your child and there are so many resources to support that process. You can teach these 1:1 mastery learning sessions as a parent, draw on online resources or enlist a tutor or subject expert. Some parents also choose to travel the world with their kids as a family and/or with an au pair! (See all)

Cultivate your child’s social skills through play and collaborative learning.

We all want our kids to be with other kids, in healthy and productive social environments. To supplement your child’s 1-1 instruction and self-directed learning, you can curate a unique set of group activities that align with your child’s interests. These program will give them lots of time working and playing with children or all ages -outdoors in nature and visiting museums, in homes and beautiful indoor spaces.. Many of these resources are free or curated by other parents at a low fee. Some of these programs can also provide childcare for your family so you can realize your passions while your child follow theirs! (See All)

Join a supportive community of mentors and peers to help you raise and educate your child.

One of the most exciting aspects of Modular Learning is the people you will meet! Who could be more exciting to connect with than other parents and teachers as passionate as you are about providing customized, flexible education with children. Build relationships with a group of people based on a shared desire to raise happy, healthy, children who love learning. Meet for family field trips, park days, volunteering and social gatherings. Give your child time to play & explore the natural world

What could be a better way to enjoy your childhood than to spend time in nature? Give your child lots of time to explore the natural world, learn science and art, move their bodies and play with friends in the beautiful outdoors. Many outdoors programs include childcare.

Empower your child to follow their interests and passions to their full potential.

Learning is limitless when children are free to follow their insatiable curiosity and desire to know “why” to its outer limits and beyond! Leaving lots of “empty space” for self-directed learning, free play and child-initiated projects is a key component of modular learning. (See all)

Personalize your child’s learning and track their progress with the support of learning tools and specialists.

Parents looking for extra support and customization may choose to work with a learning specialist to help you create your child’s plan each semester, mentor you as parent-educator, and ensure your child is meeting educational milestones. (See all)

Not sure where to begin?

Here are five of our favorite tools for new modular learners: One of our favorite local community groups, a reading curriculum designed for parents teaching their child to read, a nature-based, full-day program with childcare, a kid’s makerspace with drop-off options and a book by a developmental psychologist to kick-start your journey and give your family confidence in your ability to navigate the path ahead.
