Oak Meadow: an accredited online school that fosters creativity and project-based learning
Oak Meadow is a rigorous homeschool curriculum for K-12 students that provides students with classes in a variety of subjects, courses with flexible schedules, courses to improve their communication skills, and classes to spark their curiosity. Oak Meadow aims to engage children and encourages them to combine their core knowledge, creative skills, artistic skills, communication skills, and empathy skills so they can develop more than just their minds. They excite students with opportunities to explore the world and make differences in their communities. Lawrence and Bonnie Williams started Oak Meadow because they believed children were creative and intelligent and deserved a safe place to learn and grow. Their online curriculum gave kids hands-on activities to keep engaged and was highly effective. Meadow Oak provides print course books as well as online course books for students to complete their classes. Students follow a schedule and send their assignments to teachers to get feedback, evaluations, and additional communication. Parents really enjoy the organized, comprehensive nature of Oak Meadow's courses. The curriculum covers a broad variety of subjects and delves into these topics from a creative and tactile aspect too. It's a good fit for any student, but specifically those who are excited to learn. Some parents find the Oak Meadow curriculum to be lacking in depth, especially in higher levels (high school courses). Certain advanced classes aren't offered and some subjects aren't as detailed as parents hoped for them to be. There is also a significant amount of planning required on the parent's/instructor's end.
