A unique education for every child
Mastery Learning, Social enrichment and family support for PreK-12th grade.
Welcome to Modulo
Modular learning is a new, child-centered approach to education designed to support the whole family. Modulo starts with the child’s interests, learning style and unique strengths. We connect kids to peers, teachers and personalized digital learning resources to optimize learning outcomes. By giving children agency over their own learning and providing families, teachers and schools the resources and support they need to help kids thrive, it’s our mission to raise curious, compassionate, creative and engaged thinkers with a lifelong passion for learning and doing.
Mastery Learning
Personalized, digital learning tools and 1-1 support
Mastery Learning (1-1 tutoring and independent study) have been shown to have a 2 sigma improvement in student learning. At Modulo, each child gets a personalized digital learning plan based on their goals, interests, strengths and learning styles. We also offer options for 1-1 tutoring and virtual study halls where kids can study together with the support of a teacher skilled in an inquiry-driven, self-directed approach to learning.
Social Enrichment
Engaging online meetups facilitated by a teacher
In our interactive “digital pods” students have the opportunity connect with peers of similar ages to share passions, think critically and create projects together. All teachers have expertise in facilitating enriching social and educational experiences online. There are lots of opportunities to connect outside of group for interest-based discussion and playdates.
Family support
Parent community and expert support.
Raising a child involves the whole family and we are here to fully support parents, caregivers, teachers and extended family in the delicate and rewarding process of educating kids. We provide workshops, 1-1 support and training opportunities in the Modular approach to learning. We also offer live parent meetups and and online community where parents can share support and advice.
Our offerings
For PreK-12th grades
Personalized curriculum plan
We’ve vetted over 1000 digital resources to identify the best mastery-based tools to support learning at home. Whether families are looking for replacement or supplement school, we can recommend a plan and learning schedule that fits their goals, taking into account children’s strengths, special needs and individual learning style.
1-1 teacher support
To optimize learning outcomes, our teachers are here to help support independent study, offer tutoring, track student’s academic and developmental milestones and give support to families. In our independent study halls, students can study independently with the support of a teacher and encouragement from peers. All our teachers are trained in inquiry-based learning, helping students find their own answers and build a set of learning tools they can use for life.
Digital Learning Pods
In our digital learning pods, students meet twice a week for an hour and a half with a small group of peers of similar ages. Instructors are highly skilled in cultivating meaningful relationships in an online medium. Groups include discussions about current events, collaborative projects, physical movement, writing, art, science and opportunities for civic engagement.
Virtual childcare in English & Spanish
It can be challenging to provide a meaningful education to a student when parents have demanding careers. Our facilitators are trained to provide highly enriching opportunities for learning and group engagement online while families are working. Childcare might consist of art projects, yoga, dancing and more. This is designed to be a fun and engaging time for kids to engage in play-based learning or get support studying while families are working. We also offer study halls with teacher support for students of all ages.
