NaNoWriMo: A monthly writing challenge

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is a fun challenge to inspire writers to draft an entire novel in a single month; they also offer a Young Writers Program to assist and offer tips to K-12 kids. NaNoWriMo is a month-long challenge for writers to complete an entire draft for a novel. As part of their Young Writers Program, they offer tools, resources, and community access to help young adults in their process. NaNoWriMo began in 1999 to support writing fluency and education around the world. As people write their drafts, NaNoWriMo tracks their word count progress each day of the month. They also coordinate communal writing sessions around the world for people to meet each other. Many people really enjoy the challenge of writing a novel in a month. They find themselves getting out of a rut and taking the time to pay attention to their writings. Some people don't enjoy the pep talks the NaNoWriMo community conducts. They felt like they lack in quality and could be more professional.
